Ryanair rescues Tallinn tourism as passenger numbers grow 25%

RYANAIR NOW SECOND BIGGEST AIRLINE IN ESTONIA

Ryanair, the world’s favourite airline, 14th Apr. confirmed that it is now Estonia’s second biggest airline and is on course to deliver 400,000 passengers p.a. at Tallinn as its low fares turn the airport to growth. Ryanair, which began flying to Tallinn in December, now offers 10 international routes which have increased traffic at the airport by 25% in March.

Ryanair now offers more weekly departing seats than airBaltic and Finnair and confirmed that continued growth in international tourism is possible by working with Tallinn airport and the Estonian Tourist Board to ensure that Tallinn fully capitalises on being the European Capital of Culture 2011.

Ryanair’s Baltic Sales & Marketing Executive Elina Hakkarainen said:

“Ryanair’s 10 low fares Tallinn routes with 400,000 passengers per annum can deliver millions of Euros to the local tourism industry. We are pleased with our growth at Tallinn and the fact that we are now the second largest airline in Estonia and are turning Tallinn airport to growth.

We are confident that by continuing to work with our airport colleagues and by engaging with the Estonian Tourist Board we can ensure that Tallinn fully benefits from being the European Capital of culture 2011.”
